How do Carbon Block (CTO) cartridges work?

Supplied water penetrates the block from its outer surface to the core. Chlorine and its derivatives are held on its surface while purified water passes through to the inside of the block.

Important: Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system. Activated carbon block filters are not designed to remove bacteria or viruses.
